Men Are Ridiculous

As all women know, men are simply ridiculous. It's funny how they rule the world, and thus the world is ridiculous. A list of some of the things they do wrong, do ineptly or simply do not do at all follows. (Naturally none of this applies to my husband, who is a saint and a freak of nature.)
1. Laundry
2. Grocery shopping
3. Making arrangements for dinner or drinks or any kind of socializing
4. Making beds
5. Cleaning things unless they are kept in the garage
6. Hanging up clothing
7. Taking stuff to the cleaners and picking stuff up from the cleaners
8. Finding things
9. Pet care

There's more, but everyone already knows so I will stop. Instead I would like to delve into one particular aspect of the male gender that I find particularly odd and infuriating, again something I have only seen in other people's homes since my husband is a saint and a freak of nature. A man will take a dish or a bowl, put food on it or in it, eat the food and then place the dish in the kitchen sink. Even if said dish is covered with sticky fried egg residue or sticky almond butter residue or melted cheese residue, the man will not take the extra step of turning on the tap and running water on the dish. He will leave that dirty dish in the sink, even if it is eight in the morning and the dishwasher will not be run until ten at night, by which time that residue has become a permanent part of that dish. The same holds true for a knife or spoon. Somehow he thinks that just by placing the item in the sink he has fulfilled his responsibility and participated in the cleaning of the item. This is nutty. (It's also nutty that they tie colored pieces of fabric tightly around their necks when they go to important business meetings.)

  1. sorry for the almond butter plate this morning, honey.

As everyone knows i am neither saint nor freak of nature but an ordinary guy incapable of mastering the ways of the world.

All I know is I put the dish in the sink and from there it disappears and reappears clean and in the cupboard.
